A Little About Tannin Watson
Sports background: Working out in a gym has been a part of my life since a young girl! I always admired the women with nice physiques that were muscular. I played some sports as a child, but nothing that carried through to my current years as weight lifting.
Why NPC: I chose to simply follow NPC because this is where I want to excel and earn my Pro Card.
What do you like best about competing? I love the challenge more than anything. Knowing I have what it takes, yet also aware of the 110% dedication and commitment it requires to compete. I am motivated when I start seeing my body make the changes necessary to be where I need to be to walk on stage. I love the adrenalin rush of stepping in front of the judges and the unknown. Each time is a different feeling of excitement.
Competitors you look up to: Erin Stern – She posted pictures not too far back of her first show compared to current. Knowing where she came from to where she is now stretches my drive even further to be even remotely close to where she has come. I have also continually looked up to and followed Jamie Eason. Her columns in Oxygen were always a big reason why continued to push after deciding to compete… I read her columns each month, several times even, to give myself that extra momentum to eat clean, care for my body and train right!
Favorite Cheat Food: I LOVE ICE CREAM!!
Favorite Diet Food: PEANUT BUTTER! Can’t live without it… Unless coach tells me to, of course L
Favorite Body Part to train: I love to train shoulders and back. This is also where my biggest improvements have been made in my physique. Until now, I never liked having somewhat broader shoulders. Now they are a blessing!
Least favorite body part to train: Ugh… Legs. They used to be my favorite until they became my longest, hardest, most aggressive workout. I always feel good when I get done but I can’t say I ever look forward to leg day. J
Hobbies: I would probably consider my kids the biggest hobby of mine! I love anything outdoors in the nice weather; camping, fishing, hiking, boating and such. I love to spend my time creating – whether it be writing, crafts, artistry of any sort that challenges me and occupies my mind and hands. I love it.
Words to live by: “Champions aren’t made in gyms.. Champions are made from something deep inside them. A desire.. A dream.. A vision.. They have to have skill.. and the will.. But the will must be stronger than the skill.” – Muhammad Ali
“You’ve got what it takes, but it will take everything you’ve got”
“DREAM… The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” –E. Roosevelt
